The next International Congress of the European Society for Catholic Theology is going to provide a platform for theological and interdisciplinary reflection on questions of ecology, creation and transformation as well as for a creative advancement of the same. Philosophical, systematic-theological, biblical and cosmological perspectives will come into play as well as ethical and practical questions with regards to socio-political realities.

Information regarding the current status of the Covid-19 pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic continues to leave us in uncertainty. Of course we comply with all the governmental regulations and official measures. At the same time, we hope that the Congress can take place here at the University of Osnabrück in a regular attendance mode in August 2021. However, we are already planning a combination of such an attendance format in presence with digital formats. Nevertheless, we also have to stress that it might be possible that the congress takes place only in digital form. Further information on this topic will be available on this website as soon as possible!
When you register for the Congress on this website you can select whether you want to participate in presence in Osnabrück or in a digital way.
If you decide to participate in presence, please note the following official information of our University (German government and RKI – Robert Koch-Institut) in reference to the travel:
- If your departure location is classified as a High Incidence Area/High-Risk Area or Virus
Variant Area by the Robert Koch Institute, the stay at the University of Osnabrueck is not allowed. - If your departure location is classified as a Risk Area your stay at the University of Osnabrück is only allowed if you have complete protection against infection (at least 15 days before arrival completed protective vaccination) and you can prove this with appropriate evidence (vaccination certificate).
